Treatment Solutions

Chiropractic is the world's third largest primary healthcare profession after medicine and dentistry. For more than 100 years, chiropractors have been diagnosing and treating problems relating to the back, providing safe and effective care to millions of people. There is more to chiropractic than pain relief. In many cases we progress to corrective work to address the underlying cause of discomfort. We also recommend regular check-ups to maintain good health and prevent problems occuring.

Relieving your Pain

The first step on the journey to well-being is relieving your pain and getting you moving again.

With chiropractic care we work to reduce inflammation, ease stiffness and spasm and alleviate the distress caused by pain and immobility affecting the joints and muscles of the back.

Our hands-on approach is drugless and non-surgical. We treat a wide range of problems, including complex and long-standing issues, as well as sudden onset and intense pains and spasms. Conditions suitable for chiropractic care include:

  • Low back pain
  • Mechanical Neck pain
  • Headaches arising from the neck
  • Migraine prevention
  • Aches and pains relating to osteoarthritis
  • Tension
  • Muscle spasms and cramp
  • Leg joint pain
  • Elbow joint pain
  • Shoulder joint pain
  • Knee joint pain
  • Hip joint pain

Chiropractic is suitable for all ages, from the young to the elderly, and we modify our care to suit your needs.

Our four experienced chiropractors ensure that at Chiropractic Plus we can see you quickly at a time that is convenient for you.

At your first visit we want to know how the pain is affecting you, and learn more about your general medical history, to help us build a picture of your health and lifestyle and identify what it is that your problem stops you from doing. With a hands on-approach, we undertake a thorough examination of the painful areas and work out where the pain is and what is causing the problem to provide you with practical solutions to relieve your complaint.

For the majority of clients, chiropractic treatment is a suitable approach and treatment can start straight away. In a few cases, however, we may feel you would benefit from further tests or the opinion of another healthcare professional more suited to your problem.

Our chiropractors can use a range of techniques including joint manipulation and mobilisation, soft tissue massage and dry needling of muscles using acupuncture needles. To maximise the benefits of your chiropractic treatment, we may suggest exercises and supportive products to give you more control of your pain and help speed up relief from muscle spasms and stiffness.

We tailor our care to individuals, but as a general rule a programme of six to eight visits in the first month is recommended for a typical painful back. This gives us time to relieve pain, ease muscle spasm and stiffness, and get you moving again.
